Who spillin’ the beans man?!

Over rice, as the main dish, on the side, on a salad, in a dip, with cornbread, as dessert…BUT YOU LET YOUR KIDS USE THEM FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT?!?!?!

How do YOU like them? I heard some people say “I can’t eat them, they are…UUUurrrggghhh!!” Welp, HOW are you eating them? Who is serving them? Have you considered those questions before you dipped into a nice warm plate of these high fiber and potassium, protein filled- little red things called Kidney Beans?

Well if you’re pregnant and need folate to fight against disease, look no further!  These babies are so low in calories, eat as many as you like (when you like)- even as a snack! They are packed with plenty of GOOD fat that helps you burn calories and maintain a decent weight. Who’s having cholesterol issues AGAIN???  Kidney beans are absolutely cholesterol FRREEEEEEEEEE- which is best for a stronger heart (NO heart attacks please!)  Lastly, STOP killing your beans with TONS of sodium (SALT)! Unless you like High Blood Pressure!

Beans are a natural food for life and should be a staple product on your grocery list. They last longer than many other proteins, and are very user friendly just in case of an emergency! :-)

As for me, I LOVE BEANS! And when I don’t (because I have my moments), I make them happen! Dress them up, dress them down, just make sure you treat them right, because they definitely have your back…for the long haul!

Something In The Sea Saved Me!

It absolutely on GOES DOWN when I get in the kitchen! And tonight, I threw some Cod Fish in the skillet and killed the Fish Game! If you can see clearly, I spiced it down and dressed it up with some orange bell peppers, onions, swiss chard, with a hint of salt, and a slab of pepper -I love spicy. The main reasons I enjoy fish in general is because it’s amazing for flawless skin, a stronger functioning heart, cardiovascular health, it’s a great source in protein, and Cod isn’t as fishy like many of the other fishes. It’s filled with Vitamin B12, Omega-3 Fatty Acids which lowers cholesterol, help prevent strokes and heart attacks, and lastly, decreases sunburn! Whoa, a food that decreases sunburn. Sigh, I love great food! I’m going to go make every bite count, and next time I hope you do too! Enjoy!

YO YO AVOCADO!

Eat FAT and lose BIG! That’s right. You can actually eat GOOD/HEALTHY fat and drop those pounds with my friend Mr. Avocado. I literally eat them with eggs and spinach, salads, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, cheese dips, beans, or with a little bit of garlic salt by itself! With similar benefits as an apple, avocados GIVE LIFE! While it prevents numerous cancers, better your eyesight like blueberries, lower cholesterol like whole grains, and keeps your skin looking flawless, its natural oil has some amazing features as well. Avocado oil is a NATURAL, and HEALTHIER cooking oil for sautéing, grilling, and frying foods similar to Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil. When I’m done using mine for cooking, I stash it in my cosmetics cabinets. WHY?? Because avocado keeps my hair well moisturized, detangled free, prevents sun burn and hair breakage! So next time you’re cooking, use a drop of your Avocado oil for new great taste, a good source of Vitamin E, and to keep your hair and nails looking like you just left the spa. Enjoy!

Ms. Berry

Oh yes! And I’m not talking about Halle. I can only talk about a berry I know; BLUEBERRY! Um, Um, Um. Blueberries are a delicious and wonderful treat inside a berry smoothie, salad, iceream, yogurt, cereal, or milkshake. Blueberries are “off the chain” because they have tons of iron (get that blood pumping), zinc (kick out that runny nose, fever, congestion, and headache), and vitamins A, B, C & E (for beautiful hands, feet, face, hair, and skin)! Blueberries keep you looking younger, helps stop urinary infections, reduce belly fat (no more weighing your belt down!), preserves vision (I SEE YOUUUU!), helps prevent cancer, and makes you feel good (I will know if you ate some blueberries based on your attitude, umhm!). AND… you can freeze them, so it will definitely be a minute before you run completely out of these bad boys!  Say “hello” to brain power, and “bye bye” to heart disease and constipation by picking up your carton of blueberries TODAY! And while you’re at it…why not pick up it’s cousins Rasps and Black, and create a BERRY BERRY puree topping for your next dessert! Enjoy :-)

Queen Lemon

Okay! So I’ve been holding back on this one because it is very special and priceless. From household duties, to skin and hair, lemons are the most universal, vital, and beneficial foods you will eat in your lifetime. Immediately after waking up in the mornings, create lemon tea to help kick up your metabolism so that you can get the best results from your workout! Throughout your day, add lemon to your water for flavor and constant cleansing of kidneys, liver, and toxins from the body. Check back in two weeks or less, and your skin should be clearer and smoother.  Jazz up your entrees; squeeze lemon over chicken, salad, pasta, grilled shrimp, and baked fish for that zesty taste! (POW) Say hello to a clean system; at night before going to bed, have some {cleansing} lemon tea: one whole lemon, a pinch of cayenne pepper, and two tablespoons of organic honey to give your intestines that extra push! Had a hard time at the party last night? Add fresh lemon juice, with fresh orange juice and warm water, to put all those great nutrients (that you “gave up”) back in your stomach :-) Works wonders! And if you haven’t had enough of lemon’s greatness, reduce cold symptoms, fevers, strengthen blood vessels, reduce high blood pressure, stop difficulty of breathing, and do so much more with your lemons… but I’m done! Go to your local market and get hooked up on lemons for a lifetime. Enjoy!
